Tales From The Riverbank

Despite ongoing sleep deprivation I managed to pull some costumes out of the bag again... We won a rosette bigger than the children themselves for our entry into our local Carnival Procession this year!
I was a water vole, Finn was a badger, Tor was an otter and Lloyd actually stole the show as the foxiest fox you've ever seen.

The little sewing time I have had lately has not been used for you, dear reader. I have instead, I'm afraid, been up all night making costumes for my children to wear in our local carnival. Unexpectedly, they won prizes! Most Comical Fish. Shark and Octobaby! I'm so proud.

May 2014 - We've just had another house move! It's only been five months since the last one, but this time it's for good. Our lovely red wooden Moominhouse is bright and breezy and full of good vibes - when I've finished unpacking my sewing room I just know the creativity will flow and flow...

March 2014 - Tor is six months old in this photo! (Finn turned three in January. Time does indeed fly - I heard a quote which is apt - "the days are long but the years are short"...)

I've had plenty of ideas while I've been up feeding in the small hours! I've also made a few things for myself and my family which will serve as prototypes for future lines - baby dungarees recycled from sleeves for example. I have also decided to specialise in funky maternity and breastfeeding clothes as there is an absolute lack of these things. Just wish I had the time to sew the many many many things I have buzzing round in my head!

My little nephew

My brother is a tired parent of a poorly baby and he is running the Great Manchester Run tomorrow. Please could you help to give him the support he deserves?
As new parents you hope and wish your baby will be healthy - but imagine that instead of enjoying the first precious weeks with your baby they are rushed to hospital and have to undergo surgery. This happened to my little nephew. My brother and sister in law didn't have to travel for three hours every day or sleep in the car to spend time with their poorly son, thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities. They rely solely on donations to give this opportunity to families, so Rob is running to raise the money to cover the cost of their stay.
